Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify character deleting operation by replacing a character to be repeated of one of two buffers with a NULL code and at the same time transferring a character string covering a position right after the character closest to the head of the buffer through a position right before the character nearest the end of the buffer to another buffer. CONSTITUTION:A set cursor position storing table 1 is added to a memory 10 together with a storing area 2 which stores a deleting character position A closest to the head of a buffer, a storing area 3 which stores a deleting character position B closest to the end of the buffer, a buffer 4, and a buffer 5. A character deletion processing mechanism 102 works when a deletion process key 306 is pushed. In other words, the character set at the corresponding position of the buffer 4 is replaced with a NULL code. Then a character string covering the head of the buffer 4 through a position right before the position A and a character string covering the position right after the position a through the position right before the position B are transferred to the buffer 5 from the buffer 4 in parallel with a searching/character closing process. Thus the character deleting operation is simplified.
