PURPOSE: To provide a character input editing device which can run characters with a simple command in the style of row start and end sides, only on the row start side, or only on the row end side of a blank area.

CONSTITUTION: A format information storage part 17 where format information of the page where a description will be run is stored, a blank area information storage part 18 where blank area information of the position, the size, etc., of the blank area is stored, and a style information storage part 19 where run style information indicating the run style on row start and end sides, only on the row start side, or only the row end side is stored at the time of running a description to the page where the blank space exists are provided. The run processing is performed in a run processing part 20 so that the description is run to the page, where the blank space exists, in the style indicated by run style information stored in the run style information storage part 19 based on format information stored in the format information storage part 17 and blank area information stored in the blank area storage part 18.
