To provide a technology that can improve efficiency of data input.SOLUTION: A character input system comprising a Web server and an input terminal, being the character input system, in which the Web server comprises: a transmission unit that transmits a Web page and a character conversion table for converting input characters into the Web page to Katakana characters, to the input terminal, and the input terminal comprises: a reception unit that receives the Web page and the character conversion table; an acquisition unit that acquires the input characters into the Web page; and a processing unit that converts the input characters to the Katakana characters on the basis of the character conversion table according to a conversion processing program which is described in the Web page, is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
