PURPOSE: To shorten printing time and improve the quality of printing by transferring characters from a lettering paper to the surface of a date-wheel and a day-of-week wheel for a timepiece.

CONSTITUTION: Apply a sheet of lettering paper 2 to the surface of a date wheel or a day-of-week wheel 1, pressure is applied to the paper by using a roller 3, etc. and marking is accomplished by causing characters to adhere to the surface. To protect the printed characters 11 on the date wheel or a day-of-week wheel 1, the surface is laminated with a sheet of high molecular film 12, etc. Then the laminated and processed date wheel or the day-of-week wheel is cut into pieces of a specified shape by a press machine. By this method, the probelm of blurred ink by printing, etc. is solved and the surface of the date wheel or the day-of- week is protected from being damaged during processing or handling after that.
