PURPOSE: To print OCR characters correctly on the fixed line for OCR by printing read-out characters (ordinary characters read out with eyes) after OCR characters being printed on the single-slip form having been positioned correctly.

CONSTITUTION: By the feeding roller of an inserter system 10, a single-slip form is fed to the position where the line for printing OCR on the form is opposed to a printing head 16. If the fixed line 6 for OCR on the single-slip form does not come to the place opposite to the position of the printing head 16, the position of a bracket 13 having a support pin 12b is slid, by loosening a lock screw 14, up to the point where the position of the printing head is in accord with the fixed line for OCR. After OCR characters being printed, read-out characters are printed on the other lines. When the read-out characters being printed, the printing is made after the form is returned to the top line. Or there are other methods such that the printing is started from the line next to the fixed line for OCR and later re-started from the top.
