Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06217269
Kind Code:
A

Further, the audio signal from a sound converting circuit 4 which decodes the character signal extracted by the character signal separating circuit 2 in the operation state into the audio signal is processed by a trailing- stage sound processing circuit as specified and then supplied to the speaker of a receiver, and outputted as a speech explaining the characters, graphics, etc., while switched to a television sound. When the character broadcast is received, one or both of the video converting circuit 3 and sound converting circuit 4 are placed in operation.
