To measure a torque and the other characteristics of an electromechanical device with ease.
A characteristic measurement method for an electromechanical device of measuring characteristics of a measured motor by using a load motor whose motor characteristics are known, includes the following steps of: (a) coupling the load motor and the measured motor with each other to increase a load torque applied from the load motor to the measured motor while controlling a drive voltage of the measured motor so that a rotation frequency of the measured motor becomes a constant rotation frequency; (b) measuring a current and a voltage of the measured motor at a moment maximum torque point when the rotation frequency of the measured motor cannot be maintained at the constant rotation frequency by the control of the drive voltage, and a current and a voltage of the load motor; and (c) calculating the load torque at the moment maximum torque point from measurement values of the current and the voltage of the load motor.
