Title:
CHARCOAL IGNITER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP08178284
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily obtain a pilot flame of necessary amount by providing a vent hole at the side of a cylinder having upper and lower openings and formed of a metal plate, and installing it on a grill or metal gauze.

CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 1 having upper and lower openings 2 is formed of a metal plate. A vent hole 3 is provided at the side of the cylinder 1. A solid igniting agent 5 is placed on the grill or a metal gauze 4, ignited, and covered with the cylinder 1. Then, charcoal 6 is thrown from the opening 2. After the charcoal 6 is ignited, the cylinder 1 is raised, and removed. The temperature rise in the cylinder 1 due to the agent 5 and the charcoal which start to burn generates the rising air flow in the cylinder 1, and the introducing air flow from the opening 2 expedites the burning of the lower charcoal. It further raises the inner temperature to increase the introduced air, thereby expediting the burning of the charcoal. A pilot flame formed in the cylinder 1 by the high temperature and the supply of sufficient oxygen of the conditions of the pilot flame is increased, the burning of the lower charcoal is expedited. The high temperature and the supply of sufficient oxygen of the conditions of the pilot flame are formed in the cylinder 1, thereby obtaining the ignited charcoal.
