To produce charcoal which can be ignited with a match or lighter alone without using a kindling material (e.g. a newspaper) or an ignition material when ignited in camping, or the like, and which prevents such accidents conventionally liable to occur that a burn is gotten when a jelly-like ignition material is thrown into charcoal the heating power of which becomes weak.

The end of charcoal is precoated with a hardly volatile solid fuel.
