Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control device and a charge control method capable of distributing load to a battery supplying electricity to an accessory-system load by changing timing at which a power converter can be activated, suppressing battery degradation, and avoiding system failure.SOLUTION: A charge control device includes: a first battery 20 supplying electricity to a first load of an accessory system; a second battery 14 supplying electricity to a second load; a first power converter 21 used at a time of charging the second electricity 14 with the electricity from the first battery 20; a second power converter 13 used at a time of supplying the electricity to the second load; and a control unit 7 exerting an activation determination control not to activate the first power converter 21 if it is determined that a state of charge of the second battery 14 is higher than a state-of-charge threshold, and to set the first power converter 21 into a state in which the first power converter 21 can be activated if it is determined that the state of charge is equal to or lower than the state-of-charge threshold.
