Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger with high versatility designed for various conditions of use.SOLUTION: A charger 10 can be connected as a single charger 10A by connecting a first connector 14 to a power supply unit 80. When the first connector 14 of the charger 10 is connected to a second connector 15 of another charger 10, storage batteries 20 can be charged by receiving supply of power via the second connector 15 of the other charger 10. This enables the use of a multiple charger 10B in which the chargers 10 equal to the number according to a user's demand are connected. When the storage batteries 20 are attached to the charger 10, a predetermined signal is transmitted from a communication part 70 of the first connector 14 and the second connector 15 to the adjacent charger 10, and the chargers 10 can respectively automatically determine the number of storage batteries 20 attached thereto on the basis of the number of received predetermined signals. Thus, the storage batteries can be charged with a charging current I not exceeding a rated current of the power supply unit 80 through automatic control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
