Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automatically charge a plurality of types of storage batteries by operating a charge power source by a predetermined charge power based on a terminal voltage of the battery measured before charge is started, detecting a charge voltage after a predetermined time, and controlling continuation or stop of the charging.
CONSTITUTION: A storage battery 5 is connected to power source detecting means 3 through a connecting plug 4 to obtain a terminal voltage of the battery 5 before charging is started. Charge control means 2 sets a charge time in response to an obtained voltage of the battery, and outputs a command for charging by predetermined charge power to charge power supply means 1. When time detecting means 6 detects elapse of a predetermined time, the means 3 detects a charge voltage of the battery 5, and inputs it to the means 2. The means 2 outputs a command of continuation or stop of the charging to the means 1. Thus, a plurality of types of storage batteries are automatically charged. This is adapted for a service station for electric motor vehicles which are expected to increase in future.
