Abstract:

PURPOSE: To incorporate the function of a DC-DC converter and to obtain the high power factor by using a high-frequency transformer in which independent two secondary side coils for low and high voltages are provided for one primary side coil.
CONSTITUTION: A charger 1 comprises a high-frequency transformer 9 in which two secondary side coils 5, 6 of low and high voltages are provided for one primary side coil 3. In the case of charging, a storage battery 24 is connected to a high voltage output terminal 23, and a full-wave rectified voltage is supplied to a primary side input circuit 17 via a rectifier 37 by a commercial power source 35. An inductor 11 is provided at the one side of the divided two systems, a flyback voltage is generated across the inductor 11 in the low-voltage range of the input AC wave by the first switching element 13 provided between the inductor 11 and the negative side of the rectifier 37, the effective value of the input side AC voltage is raised to improve the power factor. As a result, the charger which has the function of the DC-DC converter and high power factor is obtained.
