To provide the subject method and device therefor, designed to charge a bar-shaped food alignedly carried by a conveyor onto the succeeding apparatus through changing its orientation so that its sides turn upward and downward, respectively.

This method comprises the following practice: a bar-shaped food 10 is carried by a conveyor 1 so that its sides turn to its advancing direction and allowed to fall from the terminal end of the conveyor; then, when the sides of the falling food 10 turn upward and downward, respectively, it is once caught by a flapper 2, and subsequently the food 10, with its sides facing upward and downward, respectively, is charged onto the succeeding apparatus situated thereunder.
