To provide a charging device that can proceed to the next function even with an electronic money medium such that sessions are disconnected between different functions.SOLUTION: A charging device has a function of accepting cash input to charge electronic money and is capable of communicating with an electronic money medium that transitions from a state in which presence detection is possible to a state in which presence detection is not possible between a first function and a second function, including: a memory unit that reads and stores identification information from the electronic money medium during the phase in which the first function is being performed; a first display control unit that displays a screen for prompting a user to operate the device to enable the presence detection when the device transitions from the first function to the second function; and a processing unit that activates the second function and executes the second function with the identification information specified when detecting that the electronic money medium has transitioned to a state in which the presence detection is enabled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
