PURPOSE: To make it possible to securely contain soft food products like meat, by gathering the products below a container kept in a state arranged upside down and after the container has been put on the gathered products, the container and the cover are held and turned reversely to contain the prooducts in the container.

CONSTITUTION: When a lifter 18 is raised one by one stepwise, products 10 are placed on the upper face of lifter in the gathered state. A stocker 26 storing a container 24 kept upside down is provided above the lifter 18. Before the first product 10 is sent in, only the downside of the lowest container 24 is pulled down by the front pulling-down claw 28. When a specified number of products 10 are gathered, the upside of container 24 is pulled down by the rear pulling- down claw 32 and put on the products 10. In this state, the container 24 and the products are transferred backward, and rotated by 180 degrees in the condition held by the upper and lower forks 36, 38 of the containing device 16. In this way, the products 10 are contained in the container 24.
