Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for charging dried coal into a coke oven without causing deteriorated work environment and operation troubles.
SOLUTION: A pulverized coal for coke making is dried and previously fractionated into a pulverized coal and a coarse coal. The fractionated pulverized coal is mixed with ground coal for coke making. A binder is added to the blend, followed by additional mixing. The mixture is mixed with the fractionated coarse coal, and the mixture, either as such or after lumping, is charged into a coke oven. An inexpensive coal having poor quality (noncaking coal or slightly caking coal) can be blended in a large amt. as ground coal for coke making to be mixed with the pulverized coal.
