To provide a charging information management system and method and an information processor to be used for this method for realizing simplicity and convenience by using a recording medium having a prepaid function, and for improving safety when the recording medium is lost.
This charging information management system 101 is provided with a recording/reproducing device 103 of a disk 102 such as the next generation MD 2 in which UID is preliminarily recorded, a communication controller 104 connected to the recording/reproducing device 103, and made connectable to a network, a settlement server 106 for performing settlement to merchandise purchased by the user and a contents providing server 107 for providing the merchandise purchased by the user. The settlement server 107 is provided with a use disk DB 106b for managing a prepaid sum corresponding to the disk UID and device UID, and the corresponding prepaid sum is updated in response to the request of the communication controller 104 which has transmitted the disk UID and device UID to perform settlement.
