Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the lug of electrolytic copper from hanging or dropping into a hearth when the copper is preheated by standing to bent the lug by the weight of the copper of its own via two guides for guiding the copper, and telescopically attaching a pressing piece for pressing to bent the bent lug toward the body of the copper.

CONSTITUTION: Since the body C of electrolytic copper A is, when the copper A is dropped by its own weight under the guidance by guides 31, 32 on oblique faces 31a, 32a, restricted by the face 32a and vertical face 32b of the guide 32, its lug B is stood to be bent upward by the face 31a and vertical face 31b of the guide 31, and the copper A is placed on a charging conveyor as it is. A stopper 71 is raised by the drive of a cylinder 52 through a rod 62 at this stage or at its previous stage, the stopper 72 is brought into contact with the body C in opposite direction to the lug B, while a pressing piece 41 is advanced by the drive of a cylinder 51 through a rod 61 to bent the bent lug B toward the body C.
