To provide a charging system for electric vehicles wherein time and trouble to house a charging cable body are saved, a possibility of breakage in the charging cable body is reduced, and safety is enhanced.
The charging system for electric vehicles includes: a vehicle connection connector 13 detachably connected to a vehicle-side connector of an electric vehicle; the charging cable body 11 to which the vehicle connection connector 13 is connected through a charging cable 12b and which supplies commercial power to the electric vehicle through the charging cable 12b and the vehicle connection connector 13; and a carport 2 where the electric vehicle is parked. The charging cable body 11 includes a ground fault interruption circuit 15 that detects an electrical leak and interrupts charging of the electric vehicle. A pole 21a in the carport 2 is provided with a housing space 3 for housing the charging cable body 11 and the charging cable body 11 is held on the pole 21a as it is housed in the housing space 3.
