To provide a versatile charging system wherein it is possible to grasp the state of charging of a secondary battery even from a place remote from the place of charging.
The charging system includes: a charging cable unit A that supplies an emergency battery C with a secondary battery built therein with commercial power for charging; and a display B that displays charging information related to the secondary battery. The charging cable unit A includes: an attachment plug 3 detachably connected to an outlet 2 through which commercial power is supplied; an equipment connection connector 4 electrically connected to the attachment plug 3 through a power cord 6 and detachably connected to a connector on the side of the emergency battery C that is supplied with commercial power and includes the built-in secondary battery charged; and a transmitter 5 for transmitting charging information related to the secondary battery. The display unit B includes: a PLC signal reception circuit that receives charging information transmitted from the charging cable unit A; and a display circuit that displays received charging information.
