The charging system charges a battery 10 with power from a power supply via an inverter 20, when the power supply is connected with a power supply connector 40. When a three-phase AC power supply is connected to the power supply connector, the battery is charged with power from the three-phase AC power supply by performing three-phase vector PFC control of the inverter. When a single-phase AC power supply is connected to the power supply connector, the battery is charged with power from the single-phase AC power supply by performing single-phase interleave PFC control of the inverter.
