Abstract:
PURPOSE:To handle an infinite number of colors by setting an achromatic axis in the center in the direction of a connection surface lateral axis, arranging chromatic stages wherein connection surfaces circumferential parts are highest in saturation at every brightness at equal intervals, and varying the numbers of brightness stages and saturation stages. CONSTITUTION:A color solid is formed by connecting two conic bodies which are equal in bottom surface area and height on their bottom surfaces, and the brightness stages which have white at the upper vertex and black at the lower vertex in the longitudinal-axis direction are provided at equal intervals. Here, the saturation stages which have the achromatic axis in the center in the direction of the connection surface lateral axis and maximum saturation at the connection surface circumferential parts are arranged at every brightness at equal intervals. Further, the circumferential part of the connection surface is divided equally by six and three primary colors (R, G, and B) of color light and three primary colors (C, M, and Y) of a color material are arranged at respective equal division points clockwise in the order of R, Y, G, C, B, M, and R. Then the numbers of the brightness stages, saturation stages, and hues are varied according to the required number of colors and the number of hues increase by a multiple of 6 every time the numbers of brightness and saturation stages increase by one.
