Title:
CHARTACEOUS-LOOKING CARD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012045720
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a chartaceous-looking card which is a woody card in appearance or when used, has the folding resistance higher than that of a card made from a paper base material, has smooth surfaces, and can be produced by a low-pressure thermal laminating method without using an adhesive.

The chartaceous-looking card is produced by welding an overcoat base material 4, which is obtained by blending a thermoplastic fiber in a vegetable fiber, to both sides or one side of a core sheet 2 comprising a thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic fiber is a polyester fiber having 2-4 μm fiber diameter. The core sheet is made from PET-G or PVC. The vegetable fiber is wood pulp having 1-2 μm pulp diameter. The overcoat base material is welded to both sides or one side of the core sheet by the thermal laminating method at the temperature equal to or higher than the glass transition temperature of the core sheet.
