To provide a chassis position detecting device in a container yard, heightening the work efficiency of a yard crane by detecting the location of a chassis in stacking and unloading positions by a management center especially in the case of introducing a remote automated operation system in the container yard.
Antennas 11 are continuously buried in the respective work positions where the chassis 5 is stopped for stacking and unloading for a container 3. Each of the respective antennas 11 covers the work position corresponding to its buried position as a detection range. An ID tag where the information on the position for stopping for cargo handling work when the chassis 5 enters the container yard 1 is provided in linkage with the chassis 5. The identification information of the ID tag is caught by the antenna 11 to detect the location of the chassis 5 in the work position.
