This self-closing type check valve is constituted in such a way that a rotatable valve element 21 is provided in a valve box 20, is opened due to inflow of discharge water by operating a pump, is closed due to stop of discharge water by stopping the pump, and is provided in the riser 102 of the drainage facility. A refuse deposit space 26 is provided outside a scope of turn of the valve element 21 in the valve box 20, the valve element 21 is provided at a position deviated from a pipe central axis of the riser 102, and refuse G sinking and abutted on the valve element 21 when closing slips off into the refuse deposit space 26.
