PURPOSE: To check the displacement of a floating structure from the sea to the land caused by a tidal wave or high sea by installing a protecting structure having a floating member in a guide unit provided for a quay so as to be able to rise and fall automatically according to the rise and fall of the sea surface.
CONSTITUTION: A guide unit 2 is fixed to the front surface of a quay 1. A protecting member 3 is inserted in the guide unit 2 and allowed to move in the vertical direction. A float/stopper 3' is provided for the protecting member 3. When the sea level is raised by tidal wave or high sea to B relative to the normal sea level A, the protecting member 3 is raised by the action of the float/stopper 3' so that a floating structure connected to the protecting member 3 is prevented from moving on to the quay 1. Reference numerals 5 and 6 designate a bollard and a mooring cable respectively.
