Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable application of an electronic receipt to be designated in a settlement device.SOLUTION: A checkout system of an embodiment includes a commodity registration device and a settlement device including settlement means, second acquisition means, third generation means, printing means, and transmission means. The settlement means performs settlement processing on the basis of settlement information notified by the commodity registration device. The second acquisition means acquires a user code. The third generation means generates receipt information including information to be described on a receipt concerning a transaction targeted for the settlement processing. In the case where a user code has not been notified by the commodity registration device and where a user code has not been acquired by the second acquisition means, the printing means issues a receipt through use of receipt paper. In the case where a user code has been notified by the commodity registration device or where a user code has been acquired by the second acquisition means, the transmission means transmits the user code and information included in the receipt information to a management device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
