Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the oral cavity of a patient from damaging by providing an assisting member which cooperates with a wire end projecting from a hole for limiting the rearward movement of the wire on one of a base member or a body member. CONSTITUTION: A tubular buccal orthodontic appliance 10 has a base pad 11 having a bottom surface 12 directly attached to a buccal surface of molars or being equipped on a molar band, wherein a body 14 has a longitudinal hole 16 of a rectangular section suitable for slidable acceptance of an arched wire. A leg 17 of an U-shaped assisting member 18 is equipped on the body 14 or the base pad 11 wherein the assisting member 18 is assembled in back of the tube and a top coincides with a central line of the hole 16 so as to establish a barrier against a tip of the arched wire, thus, the wire is prevented to go back further toward an end part direction. Then the arched wire can be go back further toward the end part direction by bending the tip of the wired arch, if necessary.
