Abstract:

To produce a chelate-forming fiber having excellent capturing performance to metals and metalloids, enabling easy incineration, or the like, and easily producible by a safe process at a low cost and to develop a process for the production and the use of the fiber.

The objective chelate-forming fiber contains a polyethylene-imine having an average molecular weight of preferably 300-70,000 and introduced into the fiber molecule and imparted with a chelate-forming performance to metals or metalloids. This invention also provides its production process and a method for capturing metals or metalloids by the use of the fiber.
