Abstract:
To provide a chelate polymer capable of swiftly capturing a minute amount of heavy metal ions and reducing the amount of heavy metal ions to a ppm level or lower in a short time.SOLUTION: A chelate polymer has a structure represented by the following general formula (1) and a weight average molecular weight of 10,000-1,000,000 and contains a chelate functional group of 0.2-5 mmol/g. PS-X-A-CL (1) (in the formula, PS indicates acidic polysaccharides or basic polysaccharides. X indicates a group expressed by -O- or -N(R)-, wherein R indicates a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1-6 carbon atoms, A indicates an organic group having 3-30 carbon atoms.
