To provide a chemical feeder for a cooling tower, capable of feeding a solid chemical dissolved in water to a cooling tower only when operated, feeding a fixed amount of the chemical corresponding to a load applied to the cooling tower, and facilitating checking the amount of the remaining solid chemical.
A trough-shaped water catcher 5 serving as a catchment is inserted in a filler 2 in a cooling tower 1. Part of water falling through the filler 2 is collected by the water catcher 5, and is sent through an inflow pipe 6 and a flow rate adjusting valve 7 and flows through an inflow port 8a at the bottom of a container 8 into the bottom of the container 8. Water flowing into the bottom of the container 8 comes in contact with a solid chemical inside the container 8 to create a chemical solution. This chemical solution flows out of an outflow port 8b of the container 8 and travels through a chemical feeding pipe 10 into a pit 4. In this manner, the chemical is fed.
