PURPOSE: To enhance adhesion between a chemical matte layer and a polyester film and obtain a chemical matte film with favorable writability, by providing a primer layer comprising an acryl-modified copolymeric polyester resin on at least one side of a polyester film, and further providing a chemical matte layer.
CONSTITUTION: A chemical matte film comprises a primer layer comprising an acryl-modified copolymeric polyester resin on at least one side of a polyester film, and a chemical matte layer on the primer layer. An aqueous primer liquid comprising the acryl-modified copolymeric polyester resin is applied to at least one side of the polyester film before crystal orientation of the film is completed. Then, the coated film is subjected to drying, stretching and a heat-treatment to complete the crystal orientation of the polyester film, thereby obtaining a primer-coated biaxially stretched polyester film. The chemical matte layer is provided on the primer layer to produce the chemical matte film. The chemical matte film thus obtained has excellent writability and fovorable solvent resistance.
