To obtain a chewing gum effective for prevention of an infectious disease, capable of performing to prolong effect continuity of an antibody, facilitating digestion and preventing deactivation by using an egg antibody as an essential component for prevention of an infectious disease.
This chewing gum contains an egg antibody as an essential component for prevention of an infectious disease. As the egg antibody, an antibody to, e.g. a causing microorganism of an intraoral infectious disease such as Streptococcus mutans or a causing microorganism of an infectious disease of a trachea or a respiratory tract such as an adenovirous is exemplified. Usually, such antibody can be prepared from inside of egg, etc., after a laying hen (preferably, White Leghorn origin) is immunized to the causing microorganism. As a state of the egg antibody, e.g. immunoglobulin itself, egg yolk powder obtained from an immunized egg or skimmed egg yolk powder is used. Preferably, the egg antibody is added to the objective product in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% of the objective product in terms of a pure product. Addition of the antibody in a powdery state is preferable for its process.
