To provide a chilling unit such that when a compressor restarts operating after stopping, a liquid temperature of a controlled object is quickly restored to a target temperature.
A chilling unit includes a control section which controls the chilling unit. The control section calculates necessary operation capacity using a temperature difference between a set target temperature of a liquid and a detected temperature of a temperature sensor, drives a compressor so as to attain the calculated operation capacity, calculates a necessary operation capacity using a temperature difference between the target temperature of the liquid set even in a state in which the compressor stops and the detected temperature of the temperature sensor, and drives the compressor so as to attain the operation capacity set in the state in which the compressor stops, when the compressor restarts operating.
