Abstract:

To provide a chip fixing jig capable of surely fixing to a tool grinding machine a plate-shaped chip having a longitudinal groove part formed in its back and of being manufactured at low cost because of simple constitution.

In a chip fixing jig which comprises a jig main body 22 mounted on the table 18 of a tool grinding machine and a holding member 24 fixed to the jig main body, and which is designed so that when a plate-shaped chip 10 requiring edge grinding is placed with its front abutting against the jig main body, the holding member clamps the chip between it and the jig main body via a longitudinal groove part 12 in the back of the chip, the holding member forms a longitudinal groove 28 in its surface directed to the jig main body, and in a portion corresponding to the grooved part of the chip, and a round bar 30 of the required diameter is interposed between the longitudinal groove 28 formed in the holding member and the longitudinal grooved part of the chip. Under these conditions, the holding member is fixed to the jig main body whereby the chip can be clamped in place between both of these members via the round bar.
