To increase the uniformity of chip size by providing a selecting means which selects chips obtained by a crusher by size to make a chip product.

A crusher 1 which crushes a material M of trees, branches, etc., into chips is installed. The chips the size of which is equal to or larger than a prescribed size are separated by a cyclone 21 and supplied to a sieve 22, in which the chips the size of which is equal to or smaller than a prescribed size are selected as product chips ST to be supplied to a product chip conveyer 4. Accordingly, the product chips ST with improved uniformity in size can be obtained.
