Title:
CHIP REMOVING DEVICE FOR SAWING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3313845
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To securely remove the chip being attached to a saw blade by detecting the amount of wear of a brush by a detecting means, and by increasing the rotating speed of the brush in accordance with the detected amount of wear of the brush, and by always maintaining the peripheral speed of the brush at an optimum value.
CONSTITUTION: A chip removing device for a sawing machine comprises a saw blade housing 11 that is oscillatable in the vertical direction of the base of the horizontal band saw, and a brush supporting member 35 for rotatably supporting a circular brush 45 for removing the chip attached to the saw blade is turnably supported by the saw blade housing 11. A stopper member on which the brush 45 is abutted by the turning of the brush supporting member 35 is provided in a position near to the saw blade, and also a driving means 39 for rotating the brush 45 is provided to the brush supporting member 35. In this case, a brush-wear-amount detecting means 33E for detecting the amount of wear of the brush 45 is provided, thereby the rotation of the driving means 39 is controlled by a control unit 89 so that the peripheral speed of the brush 45 becomes a prescribed peripheral speed in accordance with the detected wear amount of the brush.
