To provide a chipper which conducts chipping with low vibration/low noises by a small power and is suitable for an indoor use, such as the use in a factory for wood machining or the like.
The chipper C is equipped with a cutting device 2 which cuts a material into chips, a feeding device 3 which feeds the material into the cutting device 2, and a classifying screen 27 which classifies the cut chips according to the sizes of grains. The cutting device 2 is equipped with a rotor cutter 24 having an outer peripheral part formed in the shape of a cylindrical surface. A guide groove is provided in the outer peripheral part of the rotor cutter 24 so that it intersects the direction of rotation obliquely, while a plurality of edge bodies 243 are provided along the guide groove on the rear side of the groove in the direction of rotation. The edge line of each edge body 243 is projected at a required length from the outer peripheral part of the rotor cutter 24 and the direction of the edge line intersects obliquely the direction of rotation of the rotor cutter 24.
