To provide a ligand system in which steric and electronic properties can readily be varied and its transition metal complex as a catalyst in asymmetric synthesis, in particular asymmetric hydrogenation enables not only high enantioselectivity but also high turnover rates, to provide the complex and to provide a process for preparing the complex.
The compound is represented by formula (1). The complex is a complex of the compound with a borane. The process for preparing the compound is carried out as follows. A substituted alkylidenecyclopentanol is reacted with an Hal-PR3R4 and isomerization by heating, a reaction with the borane, then oxidation, reduction, a reaction with an Hal-O2SR7 and a reaction with an HPR1R2 are subsequently conducted.
