Title:
CHOLESTERIC LIQUID CRYSTAL FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001004832
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a circular polarizability and to easily visually confirm a diffractive effect by the diffracted light by providing an area showing diffractivity in a part of a film, and setting the diffraction angle of the diffracted light in this area in a specified range.

This cholesteric liquid crystal film has an area showing diffractivity in a part of a film. The area showing diffractivity means the area causing the effect such that the light transmitted or reflected by this area creeps into a part geometrically forming a shadow. The diffraction angle of the primary diffracted light in the area showing diffractivity is within the range of 5-80°. When the diffraction angle is smaller than 5°, there is a possibility that the effect by diffraction cannot bed confirmed. When it is larger than 80°, a trouble such that the diffraction effect can be visually confirmed only when the film is observed from exact sideway might be caused in a design use.
