To produce a chromate treated galvanized steel sheet having a film imparted with lubricity of a high degree by an additive having lubricity improving effect more excellent than that of the conventional additive and to provide a method for producing the same.

This chromate treated galvanized steel sheet is the one in which the surface of a galvanized steel sheet is applied with a chromate film, and the surface of applied with a lubricating layer contg. a mercaptide compound which is a reaction product with a thiol compound and a lubricant thereon, and the steel sheet is produced by forming a chromate film on the surface of a galvanized steel sheet, threafter coating it with a soln. contg. a thiol compound and next coating it with a lubricant or coating the surface of the chromate film with a lubricant mixed with a thiol compound.
