To provide a method for reforming chrome ore melting reduction furnace slag capable of drastically reducing the load of crushing and eliminating the problem of boron elution from the Cr ore melting reduction furnace slag by recycling the ladle slag containing boron produced during melting of molten steel in a converter etc., as a boron source and solidifying the Cr ore melting reduction furnace slag in such a manner that the state after cooling is nearly approximate to the state of the grain size distribution of bottoming.
The method is an improvement of technology to perform melting reduction of the chrome ore with a carbonaceous material by using an iron bath furnace and to reform the slag produced in melting the chromium-containing ore.
