Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of machining accuracy of work due to partial contact when pressing a sleeve in an axial direction, and the vertical dropping of the sleeve and the like, in a chuck opening/closing mechanism.SOLUTION: A chuck opening/closing mechanism has a chuck opening/closing sleeve 40 which is inserted in a hollow-cylindrical main shaft 32, and carries out the opening/closing action of a chuck 37 provided on the main shaft 32; a driving mechanism 42 for sliding and driving the chuck opening/closing sleeve 40; and a balance sleeve 41 which is disposed between the driving mechanism 42 and the chuck opening/closing sleeve 40 in the main shaft 32, and spherically contacts with the chuck opening/closing sleeve 40. By the driving mechanism 42, the chuck opening/closing sleeve 40 is driven through the balance sleeve 41, thereby opening/closing the chuck 37. On an outer peripheral surface of the balance sleeve 41, a projection 47 contacting with an inner peripheral surface of the main shaft 32 is provided so as to accept the rocking of the balance sleeve 41 in the main shaft 32.
