Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cigarette filter capable diluting air enough for significantly lowering particulates and gaseous components sent to a smoker while keeping the taste and flavor of smoke as much as possible. CONSTITUTION: This cigarette filter connected to a tobacco rod 14 is provided with air dilution holes 18 and 20 radially drawn into the fiber materials of filter 12 for the depth almost from 1.0 to 4.0 mm. When the smoking person inhales a cigarette, air passed through the air dilution holes 18 and 20 flows through the center of filter, namely, a core area into the mouth of smoking person. When the main flowing smoke from the tobacco rod flows into the filter 12, it is dispersed over a loop-shaped area surrounding the core area.
