Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a cigarette filter excellent in disintegrability when wetted, high in ability to filter off harmful tobacco components and capable of giving good smoking taste, by rolling up in a rodlike fashion nonwoven fabric made from a cellulose ester composition and a highly water-dispersible binder.
CONSTITUTION: This cigarette filter is obtained by creping and/or embossing and then rolling up in a rodlike fashion nonwoven fabric made from a cellulose ester composition such as cellulose ester short fibers, fibrous esterified pulp, cellulose ester fibrets, cellulose ester coating pulp or fibrillated cellulose ester fibers and a highly water-dispersible binder such as a water-soluble natural-based or synthetic resin-based adhesive.
