Abstract:

PURPOSE: To exclude undersirable lateral discharge with high probability even if a radial dimension is small by surrounding a contact component provided on an initial ignition electrode with an insulation sleeve made of high dielectric constant material, and causing the component to protrude from the electrode in its axis direction.
CONSTITUTION: A contact component 14 formed into a hollow cylinder is provided on an initial ignition electrode 12 provided in a first opening and closing member 4, and the component 14 is concentrically surrounded by an insulation sleeve 15 fixed to the free end of the member 4. The sleeve 15 is made of high dielectric constant material and is protruded from the electrode 12. A continuous wave in leading flame discharge ignited between initial ignition electrodes 7, 12 is significantly reduced by forming at least one side of contact components 8, 14 of material matching the electric resistance. The whose electrode 12 is constructed of conductive plastic, particularly plastic of filled high polymer material base. Thereby, undersirable lateral discharge is excluded with high probability even if a radial dimension is small.
