Abstract:

To provide an abnormal overheat detection structure capable of adding a function for detecting abnormal overheat of an electric wire connection terminal with ease by simple modification to a normal circuit breaker, and of improving an innate current cut-off performance of the circuit breaker.

A circuit breaker has: an opening/closing mechanism part connecting and disconnecting between a power supply side electric path and a load side electric path; a tripping device part detecting an abnormal current flowing in the electric path to make a tripping operation of the opening/closing mechanism part be performed; an arc space into which an arc gas generated when a contactor is driven so as to be opened is discharged; and a connection terminal part connected with an external power supply conductor and provided so as to be exposed. An overheat detection bimetal for detecting overheat in the connection terminal part is fixed to the inside of a unit body of a conductor configuring the connection terminal part and is provided so as to be exposed to the arc space. An interlocking member working together with bending of the bimetal to act on a latch of the opening/closing mechanism part is provided.
