To make trip display possible with a simple structure and also to prevent erroneous display.
The circuit breaker comprises a unit body 10 having a window hole 11o formed therein, a contact mechanism 13, a handle 140 which rotates between a closed pole position and an open pole position, a link mechanism, electromagnetic release means 150 and thermal release means 151 which forcibly make the contact mechanism 13 open, a handle spring 147 which energizes the handle 140 toward an open pole position side, a display member 16 rotatably supported on the unit body 10 and having display parts 16A-16C, and a latch spring 145 which pushes the display member 16 at one end thereof and energizes the display member 16 toward a trip position side where a trip display part 16A is opposed to the window hole 11o. The display member 16 has an engagement protrusion 16c formed therein, which engages with an engaging piece 147e of the handle spring 147 to limit rotation toward the trip position side, so that when tripped, the engaging piece 147e is displaced to become disengaged, letting the display member 16 turn to the trip position.
