Abstract:
To provide a circuit breaker which can be used in a high-voltage DC power distribution system, while obtaining sufficient breaking performance.
An arc runner 38 extending toward a pair of front and rear arc-extinguishing devices 36 is provided under a movable contact piece 35. High-resistance members 39 and 40 are provided integrally with respective ends of the arc runner 38 which are adjacent to the pair of arc-extinguishing devices 36. Compared with fixed contact pieces 33 and 34, fixed contacts 33a and 34a, the movable contact piece 35, movable contacts 35a and 35b, and the arc runner 38, the high-resistance members 39 and 40 are made of a material having higher volume resistivity.
